Where did I leave off when I put this site on ‘hiatus’? It must have been around April/May right? I’ll highlight the events from then until now.

• I graduated from Texas A&M in May. May 10th, to be exact.

• My dad had his operation on May 22nd. Everything went well and has been well ever since. So grateful for that.
• Moved out of my apartment and back into my parents house in July, started looking for jobs/prepping for grad school entrance exams
• Hurricane Ike hit us around September 11. Left us without power for 2 weeks. What an experience. Had to eat out everyday (which lead to a huge weight gain. Meh.) No water so we had to rough it in every sense. Took a ‘shower’ with a water hose outside one day. Everyone should have to experience that at least once in their lives.
• My 2nd niece (and 4th child of my brother and sis-in-law) was born on November 15th. Her name is Lyra Alexis M. and she’s a beauty. We’re just in awe of her and can’t wait to see what she’ll be.
• I’ve been applying to grad schools. I got into Sam Houston State University for the Spring 2009 semester. It just seems kind of easy to get in there – since I applied in November. Like too good to be true? Yeah. I’m applying to a few other schools for the fall 2009 semester and I’m hoping to get the apps in by Christmas or a little after. Don’t need to make the same mistake a last year – turning them in later than I should have.

I’ve also been reading a lot. I still don’t have a real job but I’m working for my dad at his accounting practice doing things they need me to do. To tell you the truth, it’s been pretty uneventful over the past few months.

My sister’s in right now for the holidays and other things. She’s going into the hospital tomorrow for a procedure (won’t go into detail here since it’s not my business). So I’ll be nursing her back to health and helping around the house until after Christmas. I still need to buy more presents and I must do that soon. I hate waiting until the last minute. Makes me feel bad, you know?

I must go. We need to be at the hospital early tomorrow (by 6AM!) so I need to go get showered and ready for tomorrow. Plus Dexter comes on in a little over an hour and I cannot miss that! I love that show. :-)
