The secret diary of a tall girl

Lots of new stuff

This weekend, my parents and I went to Austin and Dallas. It was good and fun and all that but I’m SO glad I’m home and able to sleep in my own bed. See, Saturday and Sunday night my parents let my niece and nephews stay with us in our hotel room. The boys slept on their inflatable beds on the floor and Kierani, my 6 year-old niece, slept in the bed with me. I didn’t think it was bad so I didn’t argue that. Except IT WAS. OMG. That girl is all knees and elbows and she likes to hog the bed. She flips and, at one point Sunday morning, she had flipped around and had her feet in my face. I woke up a lot and was like ‘WTF are there feet in my face?!’. lmao. She’s worse than me. then Monday morning she was horizontal in the bed and I had to move her. I thought she’d wake up but the girl sleeps LIKE A ROCK. And hogs the bed. Every time I tried to move or roll over I got a bunch of knees and elbows in my back. I tried moving her but she’d kept going back where she was.

On Sunday, we went on a train ride from Cedar Park to Burnet, TX. One small town to another. It was Sunday so when we got there, all the shops were closed. The town seemed kind of old and abandoned and there was nothing to do for the two hours we were there except have lunch, which took FOREVER since there was only like 2 places open…, and watch an incredibly corny wild west gun fight. The kids liked it. The train ride itself was cool, I guess.

Then yesterday my parents and I went to Dallas/Ft. Worth to buy me some business attire that’s long enough to fit me. We found some and ended up spending so much time and money in the process. I feel bad because I hate making my mom spend so much money on me after she’s already done so much. But the clothes are nice and I finally have a suit set that fits me, which is awesome. I look sharp. Then we stayed at a hotel in the Stockyards in Ft. Worth. It’s like an area of old-west style shopping and eating. IDK if you guys are familiar with the Kemah Boardwalk near Houston/Galveston. It’s like that but Old West themed instead.

Oh! I registered for my classes for next fall. Took a lot of effort and hassle but it happened. I woke up at 6 on Monday and was presented with a ‘You can’t register. You don’t have a time ticket.’. That kind of annoyed me. lmao. A&M is switching student information management systems and it’s been giving me such grief since. Anyway I called the help desk and got that settled. I registered then realized I couldn’t register for 2 required MKTG classes. Ugh. Had to call again. Was told the classes were only open to blah blah blah and no one else. Except she didn’t list Marketing grads. Which made NO SENSE whatsoever since THESE CLASSES ARE REQUIRED! She’s like ‘Oh. Please hold’. By now, it was about 8:15 and I was in the hotel lobby getting odd looks from the concierge people. She fixed it 30 minutes after I got on the phone with her. Thank goodness. What a hassle. *shakes head*
