I should update this more…
Not much has happened since I posted last. But I really should post more here. I keep being too lazy to post here. I need to make a habit of writing here every few days. I’m severely neglecting this and my paper journal I bought in November and only have about 5 pages filled. Slacker.
The interview at Trinity went OK but I didn’t get in. I’m kind of bummed but it wasn’t meant to be. However, I did get into U of Houston’s MBA program and Texas A&M’s Marketing program. I’ve decided on Texas A&M. I really love it there and it would be great to spend a little more time up there for my graduate school. I have to take a statistics class during the summer session before I can start in the fall. I guess that’s OK because it won’t be too hard. Now I just have to look at apartments and try to find a job or an internship up there this summer. I’d really love to be a TA but those jobs for incoming grad students in my department won’t completely be available until the spring.
I went to the doctor a few weeks ago because I’ve been having all of these health issues – mainly not having my periods…at all. It’s been going on for years but I was on birth control and that solved the problem. I went off that in July because I had other problems. I’ve also been trying to lose weight (working out 3x a week and eating about 1200 calories a day) and not losing an ounce. Anyway, I got some blood work done and it turns out I have PCOS. It explains my issues I’ve been having. I’m on medication right now – a lower dosage for a few weeks to see if I have any problems, then the full amount after – and I hope it solves my problems.
I’ve been getting so discouraged about not losing weight and I hope this helps. I know when you work out you gain muscle at first so you don’t get much of a result on the scales at first, but that’s only for like the first few weeks, right? At some point the muscle, although it is more dense than fat, starts burning fat and taking weight off. I’m not an expert (and am probably completely in left field about this), but I should be losing at least a little bit now. I’ve been working out since January on a regular basis (3 times a week). I’ve had some slip-ups as far as eating out and all that but I get right back on my diet after. My clothes are fitting a little bit better but I guess I care too much about what the scale says.
They always say ‘Don’t give up!’ but why keep it up when nothing’s working? I would love to be back down to where I was last May (about 20-25 pounds lighter) by June but that’s nearly impossible.
If you guys have any tips, please fill me in! :-D
